At the beginning of spring, A. Lange & Söhne presents a special edition of her classic RICHARD LANGE in white gold and blued steel hands. As of April 2013, this variant is available exclusively in the boutiques of the Saxon tradition brand.
With the RICHARD LANGE, A. Lange & Söhne was able to revive the great tradition of scientific observation clocks in 2006. Once they served as an indispensable navigation aid and precision instruments of science. As a boutique edition, this elegant three-dimensional watch, which has been completely reduced to the function of precise time measurement, is now available for the first time in a white gold case with the usual diameter of 40.5 millimeters. The contrasting representation of the time with hands made of blued steel on the argenté-colored dial made of solid silver allows an excellent readability.
The RICHARD LANGE is a tribute to the eldest son Ferdinand A. Langes. As a long-standing technical director of the paternal manufactory, he devoted himself to the development of fine watchmaking through the results of scientific research. The most important achievement is to be found in the balance wheel. In 1929, Richard Lange realized that the addition of beryllium in nickel-steel alloys makes the balance spiral less sensitive to temperature and at the same time more elastic. His recognition, patented the following year, led to a precision movement in watchmaking and promoted the development of a watch movement that defines its accuracy: the watch watch.
The RICHARD LANGE takes up the characteristic design of its historical model and reinterprets it for the present time. The cool white gold case and the handy completion of the movement make it a modern observation watch for the wrist. The new special edition of the RICHARD LANGE is available worldwide exclusively in the A. Lange & Söhne boutiques. Although it is not limited, only a few copies can be built per year.
